#9
Don't get me wrong, I love Kobe Bryant, he is arguably the greatest player of all time. But here is a list of the stupidest things he's done throughout his career. A new "moment" will be released every day.

Number 9

Kobe Fights Chris Childs

Shortly before Kobe ever won his first NBA championship ring, he landed his very first NBA in-game punch. It was a lovely Sunday in late April of 2000 when Bryant, barely old enough to drink, garnered a one-game suspension and a $5,000 fine for brawling with Chris Childs, then a guard for the New York Knicks.

Shoe of the Day - April 26th

Allen Iverson Reebok Question

These are the greatest shoes, in my opinion, Iverson has ever worn. They are stable, have great cushioning and a tremendous court traction. This sneaker was the best selling Reebok shoe ever, which is quite amazing since Iverson was just a rookie when his sneakers were sold. They have now been remade in all kinds of colors.

How Competitive Are You?

Test yourself by asking yourself these questions: Are you a competitive basketball player?

Answer True or False:
1. I hate to lose.
2. When I play poorly I get very upset at myself.
3. I am more likely to swear when I’m losing than when I’m winning.
4. I don’t mind trying different game strategies even if they cause us to lose.
5. I go into most games thinking I’m going to win.
6. During a game I sometimes feel sorry for opponents.
7. I don’t mind when team mates play poorly, as long as we win.

9. Winning is the main reason for competing.
10. I am more concerned with having fun than winning.
11. Losing a well played game is satisfying.
12. The main reason for practicing is to win.
13. I mind when team mates give less than 100 percent.

Shoe of the Day - April 25th

Nike Huarache 2K4
People's Opinions on the Huarache:
"Never, to my knowledge, has nike spent so much time and money advertising any one product. After wearing the shoe, though, you'll realize that every dollar both you and nike spent was absolutely worth it.
The Hurache 2k4 embodies all the flagship nike qualities. The shoe is very stylish, a performance machine, comes in nearly two dozen colorways and in many different materials. The shoe is also customizable on nikeid.com, and has been a huge hit even with its premium pricetag ($125 retail, $135 on nikeid).
So does the shoe deserve all the promotions and lofty pricetag? as much as any basketball shoe ive ever played in. Being a lightning fast point guard, the shoe is exactly what i needed: it's the lightest shoe on the market at only 14.4 ounces (anorexic compared to the generic basketball shoe these days), and the low-profile and extremely responsive zoom air cushioning throughout the shoe really lets you feel the court. The traction is also top-notch, in fact the great jordan xiv is the only shoe with better traction than the huarache 2k4 in my opinion.
Why is it called Huarache, you ask? Huarache, in spanish means "sandal", and that is what the shoe is supposed to replicate. like sandals, the huarache is comfortable, but sacrifices material for quality so as to create a light shoe with all the performance standards. so in the case, less is definately more, and quality defeats quantity.
One thing that the huarache sacrifices most importantly, though, through the preservation of materials is ankle support. the thin strap locks down the foot, but the back ankle area is composed of one piece leather (or in my case suede, as I testes the black/silver colorway). the result is excellent response on guick cuts to the hoop, but the quick stops come at a high price if you dont center yourself for the landing. there were only a couple instances where i hurt my ankle though, and neither of them were serious enough to keep me out of the game. if you have weak ankles and expect more from your kicks, you might want to tread elsewhere.
Back to the pros. the zoom air cushioning is as good as in any shoe ive ever worn, and is not put to better use in any other basketball shoe. the use of air-sole cushioning in the shoe would not fit as well and probably augment the weight, but is especially nowhere near as responsive and cushioned as zoom air. i actually felt faster in these shoes, and often forgot they were on my feet.
The huaraches are some of the best performers ive ever had. though the price is lofty, you cant to better for even $150 and they outperform all the recent jordans that retial at around $175. if you take bball seriously, you'll find nothing better. "

"dawg this joint is on fire i would defitnaly recomed it for people who like shoes these are the freshst i took them to school and everyone was like wowww dammn they sum fresh nikes u got"

Top 5 Basketball Shoes On The Market Right Now 2011 - #1) Kobe Zoom VI

#1) Kobe Zoom VI

This shoe is the ultimate basketball shoe. Not only is it one of the most lightweight shoes ever, making it easier for players to get up and down the court, it is also one of the most comfortable shoes. The weight is incredible, as it makes you feel like you're not even wearing shoes. The traction provides players to change direction amazingly and also makes it easier to "D Up" opponents.

Pros:
  • Lightweight
  • Comfortable
  • Good traction
  • Pretty much everything...
Cons:
  • no ankle support (get an ankle brace)

Recommendation: The best shoe on the market. If you're a guard that's serious or an elite player, you need these shoes. These shoes will elevate your game so much more than any other shoe. You'll be dunking on everyone with these shoes.

Top 5 Basketball Shoes On The Market Right Now 2011 - #2) Jordan AJ 2011

#2) Jordan AJ 2011

Jordan shoes never disappoint and this shoe certainly wasn't going to break the trend. This stylish comfortable shoe is extremely light and has amazing grip. It's no wonder why a slashing guard like Dwyane Wade uses this shoe.

Pros:
  • Stylish
  • Comfortable
  • Light
  • Great grip allows for lockdown on defense and change of pace on offense
Cons:
  • $$$
  • half a size too big

Recommendation: I recommend this shoe for the slashing guard and also a lockdown defender. This shoe is a crazy at changing directions (euro step layups) and also locking down the best defenders because it allows players to plant their feet amazingly well.

Best Jump Training Programs On The Market

Having gone through around 7 jump training programs over the course of my career, I have achieved a 41 inch vertical. From bodyweight methods to plyometrics methods, I will list my top 5 programs.

#5)

The Vertical Explosion gives you precise information and detail on each rep and set. It also gives you reasons to why an exercise is beneficial. You will also receive training logs and step by step instructions. If you're wanting to improve your vertical, give this a try!

#4)

Although Vertical Project provides different training methods for different fitness levels, this jumping program isn't for your typical athlete. This covers plyometrics, weight training, and many other different types of training. The reason why this one is #4 is because although it is extremely good for improving your vert, it's expensive, it takes a lot of dedication and equipment is necessary.

#3)

An extremely unique and effective jumping program. Provides sport specific training methods, including basketball and football. Very flexible program as well, as it includes gym training and bodyweight training too.

#2)

16 week course, includes 2 bonus products and also provides a great bang for your buck. If you're on a budget, consider the Vertical Jump Bible.

#1)

The Jump Manual is by far the best jumping program out there. Not only does it cover a variety of effective exercises, it also covers the essentials that many other programs miss like nutrition, stretching, and REST. This program will guarantee give you 8+ inches on your vertical but it requires dedication. A MUST BUY!
